Dr. Mostafa El-Sayed's research focuses on the nanomedicinal applications of gold nanoparticles. So far, the particles have showed viability in the tagging and destruction of cancerous cells, through the refraction and absorption of light.

Dr. Andrew Lyon's research looks into various types of microgels, or networks of polymers on a microscale that swell to absorb a surrounding solution, such as siRNA, for delivery to specific cell or tissue types.
